NICK BAKER
Head Coach & CEO - Seniors
Nick began his swimming career with the Millard Aquatic Club and swam at Millard South High School. As a swimmer Nick was a medalist at the Metro Conference Swim Meet as well as the Nebraska State Swim Meet. After high school, Nick attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he helped start the UNL Swim Club. During college, Nick coached with the Greater Nebraska Swim Team in Lincoln, as well as assisted with Lincoln Northeast High School for two seasons. Nick began coaching with Sarpy County Swim Club in 2011 and became the head coach of the club in 2015. Nick primarily coaches the Senior level groups. Additionally, Nick is a teacher at Papillion-La Vista High School and the head swim coach of Papillion-La Vista/Papillion-La Vista South's men's and women's swim teams, a role he took on in 2013 after assisting for two years.
JANET CHO
Team Administrator
Janet Cho joined the SCSC staff as Team Administrator in February 2022. She began her swimming career in 2013 when her children began swimming with SCSC. Throughout those years, Janet was an active volunteer with the team, leading the social and spirit committee, volunteering at meets, managing meet entries, helping run home meets and serving on the Board of Directors. As the Team Administrator, Janet manages the "dry-side" day-to-day operations of the team, including meet entries and registration.
ERIC REES
Associate Head Coach - Seniors/Juniors
Coach Eric Rees has been with SCSC since its early days. He is currently the SCSC Associate Head Coach with over two decades of experience developing swimmers from the novice to national levels, including having coached numerous Olympic Trials qualifiers. Rees swam competitively growing up with local clubs and Papillion La Vista High School. Following high school, he swam for the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD.
Rees began coaching with Monarch Swim Club (now Sarpy County Swim Club) from 1995 to 2009. In addition to coaching with Monarch Swim Club for 15 years, he was an assistant coach with Papillion La Vista High School for 16 seasons, from 1995 to 2010. During his tenure with the high school team, Rees helped lead the team to become the 2003 Nebraska High School Boys State Champions, and three state runner-up titles (2001, 2002, 2004).
Following a break to spend more time with his family, Rees returned to the SCSC staff, and in 2021 was promoted to Associate Head Coach. In this role, he provides on-deck coaching to all SCSC practice groups, including the Masters team, revitalized and leads SCSC’s strength program, and assists with leading the daily operation of the club.
During the 2023-2024 season, Rees was named Interim Head Swim Coach at the College of Saint Mary and leads the dryland and weights program with the PLV/PLVS high school swim team.
AIDAN CHO
Masters Program & Marketing Director
Aidan began swimming with the Seawolves in 2014, and in high school swam for the PLV/PLVS high school team. He currently attends the University of South Dakota majoring in strategic communications, with a minor in sport management.
Aidan is a US Masters Swimming Level 3 Certified Coach, and began his coaching career with the Papio Pool swim team and has been involved with the sport from the club to national level. His swimming “dry side” experience includes appointments on the USA Swimming Safe Sport national committee, a member of the Midwestern Swimming LSC board of directors since 2015 and is a certified meet official. On the “dry side” with SCSC, Aidan’s primary responsibilities include the Masters program, marketing, fundraising, events and swim meet management, and more.
JEFF DANIELS
Group Lead Coach - Juniors
Jeff joined the team in October 1997. He teaching K-8 Physical Education at St. Bernadette School in Omaha from July 1997-January 2012. He has been subbing in Bellevue, OPS, and the Archdioses since then. He would like a full time Job if one comes around. He has always loved swimming, and was a very good swimmer. He was never able to participate in a competitive setting.
BARB ANDERSON
Group Lead Coach - Seawolves
Barb joins SCSC as one of our Developmental and Competitive coaches. She swam competitively as a child and attended Kearney State on a full swimming scholarship. Barb comes to us with a vast variety of swimming experiences. She has taught swim lessons for 19 years; coached the Offutt Swim Team (1972-1979) and Ralston USAA Swimming (1973-1979) and in San Antonio, Texas (1983-1995).
BILLY SALBER
Assistant Coach - Juniors & Seawolves
Group Lead Coach - Masters
Billy began his swimming career with SCSC and then swam with the Papillion La Vista/Papillion La Vista South swim team. There, he was a state finalist and a member of the 2016 State Runner-Up Team. Additionally, he was inducted into the PLHS Hall of Fame and graduated in 2016 holding one school record and one pool record. After high school, Billy was a four-time national finalist at Morningside College (Now Morningside University). He graduated in 2020 holding six school records and two pool records for the Mustangs. Billy was a two-time team captain in college and even went above and beyond to create a technique film study program for his team. Since graduating, Billy still regularly swims in his free time and is looking forward to helping the next generation of SCSC swimmers.
SALLAY JANGULO
Assistant Coach - Seawolves & Masters
Coach Sallay joined the SCSC staff in September 2023 as a Masters team assistant coach, and in November 2023 began coaching the Seawolves bronze groups. Sallay began her competitive swimming career at the age of seven, with the YMCA, and later swam with Greater Omaha Aquatics. She also swam with the Papillion La Vista/Papillion La Vista South high school team for two years. Following high school, Sallay currently works at Kids Club. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family and friends, going to concerts and traveling.
MEAGAN WALTS
Assistant Coach - Masters
Meagan began her swimming journey at age 10 with Monarch Swimming (now SCSC) and continued through high school, where she was an All-American swimmer in 2003. After two decades away from the pool, she returned by joining Masters Swimming. She works as a NICU nurse at Children’s Nebraska and resides in Papillion with her husband and three children.
